I walked along these streets without a care in the world

What had only been 9 years seems like Aeons ago.

Hopes and dreams talked about with friends and lovers;

During the walk through this enchanting place  that was home once

The atmosphere felt alive, the nights were comforting;

Filled with companionship and laughter…

Solace was found in the familiarity of these streets.

Now there’s new edifices, once smiling faces replaced by strangers;

Friendships and loves are never relished until they are no more.

I now mourn for what once was.

It’s not my home, it’s their home

And I’m welcome no more…
